Bwiza Art Centre, established in 2019 by Elysee Mushimiyimana and Iddy Habyarimana, emerged from a shared vision cultivated during their art education at Ecole d'Arts de Nyundo. Inspired by a dream to foster artistic growth in their hometown Kamembe, the duo embarked on creating a haven for local artists. Driven by personal struggles to find platforms for art during their school days, the founders aimed to address this gap in Kamembe. Bwiza Art Centre not only serves as a showcase for diverse local artists but also functions as an educational hub, guiding young talents to hone their artistic abilities. Beyond the canvas, Bwiza Art Centre offers a space for relaxation, where patrons can enjoy drinks, food, and engage in conversations. The centre becomes a cultural hub, hosting ceremonies and events, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the city.
